Deloitte

Deloitte is a global consulting firm that serves and advises some of the smartest brands and businesses around the world.
I helped Deloitte’s Center for The Edge:
+ Transform and embed its set of recommendations (for food industry clients) into a series of short “science fiction” stories about emerging realities.
+ Collect and present these stories, along with stories written by other writers, in a printed book called The Future of Food, which was given to clients.
+ Make Deloitte’s future-forward recommendations far more memorable and enjoyable than a PowerPoint presentation.
Presenting recommendations to clients within fictional narratives has now become an essential part Deloitte’s approach.


Wheels of Peace

Wheels of Peace fostered dialogue between the youth of Iran and the United States. It was led by American cyclist-adventurer-photographer Rick Gunn and Iranian cyclist and ecological activist Mohammad Tajeran.
I helped Wheels of Peace:
+ Create a website they could share with the press and others.
+ Create a private social network that students could use to communicate with each other.
Wheels of Peace facilitated multiple rounds of pen-pal exchanges between students in both countries, as well as tree plantings.


Left Coast Magazine

Left Coast magazine blended regional lifestyle pieces with solution-oriented politics.
I helped Left Coast Magazine:
+ Bring in and manage over 100 contributors, including high-profile journalists.
+ Define the voice and focus of a magazine covering lifestyle and solution-oriented politics.
+ Design the logo and craft the slogan: On Your Wavelength.
+ Define and develop topic areas with a focus on forward-thinking solutions for the most pressing socioeconomic problems in the region and nation.
+ Oversee writing and editing workflows from idea to publication.

Left Coast Magazine was emblematic of the Obama years, when progress felt more keenly possible. It remains a repository of progressive ideas from that time period.


Maui Luxe Villa

Maui Luxe Villa is a luxury property in the Ka’anapali Beach area of Maui.
I helped Maui Luxe Villa:
+ Create a direct booking site (including logo and site design, custom integrations, and copywriting).
+ Install a backend booking system syncing the calendar across all short-term rental platforms (Airbnb, VRBO, direct bookings).
+ Integrate the system with the resort’s own property management software for a seamless, high-touch guest experience.
The villa’s occupancy rate is very high and the property routinely receives rave reviews.
